A Budget Fan Review: Honeywell turbo fan

If you’ve done any indoor training you’ll know that aside from it not being the most exciting activity ever, it is also very hot. Without the constant airflow of the outdoors you’ll find the heat building up as the miles increase, that’s where a fan comes in, they keep you cool and increase performance indoors.

If you have $200 to spare the wahoo kickr headwind is the perfect choice with all its advanced smart features. However if you’re on a budget the conveniently named Honeywell Turbo Fan costs only $25 and boasts a rating of 4.5 stars with over 4000 reviews.

This tiny fan features 3 different speeds and isn’t much louder than your standard turbo trainer. Which makes of a perfect cooling solution for your pain cave, all in a small low cost package. If you’re looking for more airflow to circulate your room, this could be the ideal solution, you could even buy multiple fans for multi-angle cooling with the low cost per unit.

Usability

This little fan promises great performance for a low price, and it delivers this all in its small package. At just 11 inches it weights in at just over 3 pounds. It has an adjustable stand with 5 different angles and can also be wall mounted with ease.

The fan is ready to use out of the box, pull it out and plug it in, and you’re ready to go. The three different airflow settings caters for your easy rides and the harder ones too.

Size

The fan comes in two sizes, 11 and 15 inches. The frame is sturdy and well build, made of a thick plastic that easily supports the fan, keeping it sturdily in place. The cage has a sleek design that doesn’t affect the airflow any noticeable amount. However I would recommend you keep it away from small fingers as the gaps are fairly large. The power cord is a nice length at over 5 feet, allowing more versatility for where you can place it.

Noise

The main feature of the fan is it’s quite performance. Producing no more than 60 decibels at the highest power setting, it isn’t much louder than your standard turbo trainer. Compared to other fans of similar power it is not only quieter but also smaller.
